EGO Aukestra is an experimental music ensemble for adults with learning disabilities, special educational needs and/or neurodivergence/autism.

Our musicians are free to fly high and explore their musical talents. Whether you want to play an instrument, sing or compose on your computer this ensemble is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a session of EGO Aukestra involve?

Every week, we meet for a 2-hour jamming session, with a couple of tea breaks in between. You can dip in and out if you need a rest from playing, or you can play right through. 

EGO Aukestra meets at EGO Arts Venue on Fleet St in Coventry City Centre. For more information, visit egoarts.co.uk/our-venue

EGO Aukestra meets every Wednesday morning, 10.30am-12.30pm, all year round.

Each workshop is run by professional musicians, artists and creative facilitators, with years of experience facilitating workshops for people of all abilities. They are friendly, fun, open-minded and care a lot for the group members.

At the moment, EGO Aukestra doesn’t perform, although we are hoping to change that in the near future.

No. EGO Aukestra is all about creating original sounds – we don’t do covers, just pure creativity!

Yes. Everyone’s needs are different and we will adapt our sessions to cater to your needs.

No. You can be a complete beginner, or even unsure if music is for you. EGO Aukestra is for everyone. We will work with your ambition and ability level, however big or small.

No. Our studio is kitted out with a range of instruments, including ones suitable for beginners. However, it helps to have experience, and the more skill you have already the more we can develop our sound.
