FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the value of LAMDA training?

LAMDA training gives every learner the skills and the confidence to succeed in life.

Preparing for exams helps you develop self-confidence, communicate clearly and present ideas. It also helps you engage in-depth with the texts you’re performing.

You’ll learn to read easily and fluently, expand your vocabulary and improve self expression.

What are LAMDA exams like?

Depending on the Grade, you’ll prepare one to three short pieces – usually a monologue – to perform in front of an examiner. We’ll work with you to select pieces that challenge you in the right way.

Once you’ve performed the pieces, the examiner will ask you a few questions about them. They’ll then provide you with valuable feedback that will help you further your training.

Which LAMDA Grade should I start at?

We’ll gear your training to your skillset. After working with you for a couple of sessions, we’ll assess which Grade to put you in for. We’ll only put you forward for an exam when we know you’re ready.

Is LAMDA recognised/accredited as a qualification?

LAMDA has been recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations in England, and the corresponding regulatory authorities in Wales (DfES) and Northern Ireland (CCEA).

The University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is the organisation responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK. Applications through UCAS are conducted using the UCAS Tariff. LAMDA’s Level 3 recognised qualifications are included in the current UCAS Tariff.
